New Games Every Week! Leisure Suit Heaven Edition @_@

Games. They're always coming out. Whether we like them or care about them. They're always coming out.

-Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust - Xbox 360/PC
-Don King Boxing - Wii/DS
-Major Minor's Majestic March - Wii
-Braid - PC
-Bonsai Barber - Wii
-Rhythm Heaven - DS

Pick of the Week!
So if you're stuck with a DS I would say get Rhythm Heaven, but even though the game had previously come out on the XBLA I strongly suggest trying out Braid for the PC. An imaginative and beautiful puzzle adventure you'll never forget your experience of this innovative game.

Do I even watch anime? Dollhouse Edition ^_^

-I am ashamed to say that other than a few cartoons on Cartoon Network I haven't seen any anime this week. I have been catching up on the new Joss Whedon show, Dollhouse, but that's not a cartoon. I'll try watching some Fate/Stay Night this week and tell you how what I thought of it.

-On another note did any of you own Mario Party for the N64? If you did then this should bring back some memories. Unless of course...you never tried to beat mini-game island...scrub nub.

What games do I game? Final Okami 6 Edition T_T

-Recently beating Resident Evil 5 reminded me of how good it feels when you complete a game's story mode. I am now vigorously attempting to beat Okami (I recently got the japanese only soundtrack). It took a while to get a grasp on what was going on in the game (last time I really put some hours into it was last April), but I finally got the story to take off again and It's such a good experience. I can see now why so many critics have been raving about it.

-I also had Final Fantasy 6 for the GBA for a few weeks now and I find it a lot more entertaining then Pokemon Platinum. Maybe this is because the only game I've ever played similar to FF6 is Chrono Trigger, which I have also yet to beat, and I've played so many Pokemon games the formula is getting to me. I also really like the main protagonist of the game. People make such a fuss about FF13 having a girl. They should play Dissidia!

-A game I wish I could play is Suikoden 2 for the Playstation. I always hear good things about this game and hope that one day it may be ported or put into a classics collection.

BTW: Sorry for posting late. I had some trouble the other days.

Professor Layton 2 coming out in US after all!

If you've been one of those folks anxiously waiting for all those Professor Layton games to come out on their DS then you might be happy about this bit of news. Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is subject to come out in America within the next 6 months. Not only that, but the director of the game wishes to localize all six games!

(Sorry this isn't anime, but I am very sick today. Tomorrow will hopefully go back to the normal schedule.)

Game Developer's Conference 09 BTW...HUGE ANNOUNCEMENTS

People...I'm a regular guy just writing as a hobby at the moment. I work during the weekend and I'm trying to write a manga at the moment. I can only do so much! So let me apologize for not giving nearly as much coverage for this week's Game Developer's Conference and also apologize beforehand for E3 later this year. There is just too much stuff...oh well. I'll just cover the big boys.

Nintendo:
-New Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS. You can cry now. BTW there's a train.
-Nintendo plannins to make DSi hybrid and DSi only cards. If you've been holding out on a DSi, but still are waiting for that game...well...unavoidable purchase?
-Did you ever want to play the old Final Fantasy games on virtual console? Perhaps two new games on the WiiWare channel? Well I only hope you have enough time to beat them all!

Microsoft:
-Don't know what to buy during the next three months? They'll be no summer drought this year!
-Resident Evil 6...LOL. (PS3 Also)
-King of Fighter 12 Tournament in LA. Justin if you're reading this I feel bad for you on this one!
-Don't Stop Believing! If you know the song then you'll be pleased to know this. Hold onto that feeling yeah!
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 announced for 11/10/09. Can they outdo the first Modern Warefare?

Sony:
-PS Home featuring 3 new spaces every month. Have a social time!
-Hideo Kojima will announce his new game at E3. Let's hope it isn't Zone of the Enders Touch.
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Announced! Online co-op introduced (omfg!), new boss characters, and new playable characters Ayane and Momiji = undoubted re-purchase of the game.
-Don't have an Xbox or Wii? Pshaw! Have fun this spring with your Sony branded platforms!
-I loved Valkyria Chronicles, it was a cleverly made tactical game. Now there's an anime based on it!
-Stop it Katamari Damacy! Stop making cah-ray-zay games!

PC:
-Hello Kitty MMORPG. Read it again. Now click.
-Guitar Hero World Tour will be on PC this June. Please make some good mods guys!

Forget those platforms! This thing is industry changing:
-OnLive...changing the future of gaming? (Please click both.)
-Pachter...this effin analyst always seems to be right and I wouldn't put this prediction past him.

Okay then people I am tired and can't wait to play my new Pokemon Platinum. I hope the unappreciative no comment readers can find it in their hearts to be like "wow, he wrote a lot...I should probabaly tell him that."

New Games Every Week! WWE Platinum Edition @_@

This week we got:
-Pokemon Platinum
-WWE Legends of Wrestlemania - PS3/Xbox 360
-Wanted - PC/PS3/Xbox 360
-The Last Remnant - PC*
-Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (Ultimate Edition) - PS3*
-Wallace & Grommit's Grand Adventures, Episode 1: Fright of the Bumblebees - PC/Xbox 360
-Guitar Hero: Metallica - Wii/PS3/Xbox 360

Pick of the Week?
Hmm I don't like giving pick of the week to games that have already been released on other systems so I think Pokemon Platinum gets my vote as the game you should definitely try out! Let's be serious though, who hasn't played a version of Pokemon?

*These games have previously been released on other platforms.

Do I Even Watch Anime? Lucky no Shana Edition ^_^

I took advantage of some great deals at Best Buy and bought some dvds!

-I'm rewatching Lucky Star now that I got the DVDs and I had almost forgotten what a great show it was! If you're an otaku you must watch this show as it cleverly (unlike them) inputs 20-30 anime references throughout each episode. The references are included so seeminglessly that you may not even pick up on all of them, but the DVD book highlights them all out for you! Besides that the show is charming and very pleasing to watch! I have to give the show creator some credit for not feeling the need to include a loser male character pretend he's the main protagonist and having him wander about with the girls. Check out the show yourself!

-I've also been watching Shakugan no Shana. It's hard to explain this one. I can't explain any of the plot without spoiling it so I'll explain the genre. It's an action anime, but it doesn't focus so much on the choreography of the fighting so much since it started out as a light novel. There is some comedy in it as well and as who the target audience is, I'm not completely sure. The main male character is just another mundane loser with a undeserved power while the female character remains predictable throughout the first couple of episodes. While the focus appears to be more on her she isn't voluptously shaped, but is rather cute and young looking. Regardless of this I find the plot and obstacles that they face to be pretty original and I'm such a fan of genre I just explained (LOL) that I find myself watching each episode back to back. I make it seem like the show is horrible, but despite it's flaws I urge you to watch the first three episodes! If you still don't like them you can blame me! T_T

Edit: I just finished watching Shakugan no Shana and I strongly recommend this show to any guys out there who want a good anime to watch. Not too sure if girls would appreciate it the same way though. -_-

Schedule is final!

Alright, this is how my weekly blogging will go.

-Monday: Do I Even Watch Anime? ^_^ (I blog about my recent anime shows!)

-Tuesday: New Games Every Week! @_@ (I'll prepare you for the games that come out that week! They usually come out on wednesday.)

-Wednesday: News about games!

-Thursday: News about anime!

-Friday: What Games Do I Game? T_T (I blog about any games I've been playing recently!)

-Saturday/Sunday: Game/Anime Impressions (If I have a lot to say about a certain game/anime I will write about it on this day!)

The emoticons I use in the titles will be so I can locate the posts easier. Also, if I don't play any games or watch any anime I shall simply blog news about the subject that is being replaced. Also, if I have some extra time or if the news is simply too good to wait then I'll write more posts like today! ^_^x

What games do I game? Resident Okami Edition

-I've logged over 11 hours on Resident Evil 5 this week. I beat the game somewhere around 9 hours, but now I've been farming for gold so I can get the ridiculous weapons. Not a scary game at all, if you want a fun co-op action game and you're terribly bored of Left4Dead then check this game out.

-I wanted to finally beat that crazy yet beautiful wolf rpg, Okami, on the PS2. If you missed out on this great game I think you should go play it before it's too late. Definitely one of the best Ps2 games out there, this game brings the much needed innovation the Zelda franchise can only hope for. Oops...Did I say that? I just feel that Nintendo is currently thinking about one thing lately.

-I've been watching a lot more anime than week than gaming games. Sorry! T_T

The Behemoth's Next Game after the Last Game!

The Behemoth is at it again! Reaching grand success with Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers the development studio's trailer for a third game aka The Behemoth's Next Game After the Last Game had its debut. While not officially named and still slated for a 2010 release, the game seems to be fairly completed featuring co-op gameplay and perhaps what may be multiple mini-games. The studio has a good record so far and hopefully this game will turn out amazing as well. Let's just hope the game runs well on the first try.

Ninja Blade Demo Impressions

I had time to play the Ninja Blade demo that recently appeared on the Xbox 360. Besides the ridiculously generic name, characters, plot, and environment the actual gameplay surprised me. The demo placed me in front of multiple enemies gave me many weapons at my disposal and once my friend taught me how to run I started slashing away. The combos were fun to perform due to their variations and extreme over the top violence. The button pressing sequences though are very obvious, boring, and over-used in the level I played. The boss battle had a thrilling start but quickly became boring due to the simple patterns he used, yet it still took a long time to conquer because of his large health bar. In the end I had a fun time fighting the enemies and running down buildings...I just hated fighting the boss. My expections were low before, but maybe this game won't be that bad once it comes out. It'll be out 04/09/09 so try out the demo if you want.

The Starcraft sibling still unforgotten

Out of all the games that have ever been delayed, canceled, or put on indefinite hold, Starcraft: Ghost has got to be the one I must play before I die. Anyone who liked western games at the time knew about about it. Four years after Starcraft started eating PC gamers' time across the globe in 1998, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Splinter Cell had become the hot new stealth action games on the PS2 and Xbox respectively. Blizzard Entertainment, still a very PC heavy game company, announced an Starcraft: Ghost, a console game based on stealth action gameplay with a female protagonist named Nova. The idea worked and added innovations on the gameplay, stealth action was also still a fresh idea and Starcraft fans around the world couldn't wait to finally experience the world seeing they've always been controlling, but this time upclose and fully experiencing the fright. Display boxes had eventually started appearing in EB Games and other game stores as the title neared its completion. Then nothing happened.

There were problems. The game had switched development studios after numerous delays and Blizzard held off any further development in 2005 so it can "assess" the new generation of consoles. In 2006 Blizzard put the game on indefinitely hold so it can continue to develope Starcraft II in peace, yet in 2008 claimed that SC:Ghost was never canceled.

Well now it's 2009 and Blizzard has a lot under its belt. Vivendi, Blizzard's parent company, recently merged with Activision to become Activision Blizzard. Blizzard currently is working on 3 different Starcraft II campaigns, Diablo III, the constant patches and upcoming expansion for World of Warcraft, and a secret MMO currently in the shadows. They might be a tad too busy to worry about Starcraft: Ghost.

Regardless, this recent forum thread reminded me of those days too long ago, but I still have faith. Hey, if people still think Duke Nukem Forever is still coming out then I can dream right?

House of the Dead Overkill Impressions

While waiting for Resident Evil 5 I decided to play Sega's House of the Dead Overkill that quietly came out last month. Light gun shooting seems like a perfect way to use the Wii remote and this game was definitely a refreshing take on the House of the Dead formula. The presentation in this game is amazing, it throws away the terrible horror element the game was previously known for and now dons the excessiveness of grindhouse cinema from the 70's and that's what really shines through. The constant jokes will make you laugh as you play the game and if your parents are home you might want to turn down the volume due to the excessive swearing. As a sign of the times this game was awarded the title of most swearing in a video game by Guinness.

The controls are solid and the difficulty is fair untill you decide to buy the assault rifle or auto-shotgun which is just...overkill. Though simple the the game never slows down during its 4-5 hours playthrough which unlocks the harder Director's Cut mode of the game. It's very fun to play with a friend, but with all the toilet humor in the game please prepare them for it as they might be turned away from this parody. Basically the gameplay is still true to House of the Dead.

The downside to this game is sadly the technical issues. Realizing this game is on the Wii I can't blame them for not being able to pull off Metal Gear Solid 4, but there were some obvious problems that weren't unavoidable. The game's framerate drops when there are more than a few enemies on the screen. Also for whatever reason Headstrong Games, the developers, decided to make it so that when you kill a zombie the body is swapped out for broken dead one instead of acumulating the damage done to it. Since Resident Evil 4 Wii doesn't need to resort to this I found it unusually as it actually slows down the game for a second as the game swaps the bodies. I have found some complaints on the web complaining about glitches in the game, but I have yet to experience these.

Besides these small complaints I really enjoy the game and have given it the honor of being the my favorite on-rails light gun shooter ever! I am probabaly getting some Perfect Shots for my remots and play the Director's Cut with a friend later. This game as well as Madworld and The Conduit are all being published by Sega. Many publishers and development studios thinking about the Wii are looking at these games. If these games don't sell well we can look forward to more games like Wii Music and this. So please if you like some maturity or clever gameplay in your games or any type of quality at all then please consider these games. I will love you ever so much.

Note: These words are actually spoken in the game. T_T

What games do I game? Weekly T_T

-I've recently gone into a "I have to actually beat these games" mode and have progressed through a good chunk in Prince of Persia for the Xbox 360. A lot of reviewers felt this game was too easy and consumer friendly and penalized it very harshly. I feel they overexaggerated about this aspect of the game. I love the game's artistic direction and love taking in the view as I platform through the world flawlessly. The battle system is fun and keeps you on your feet and the AI for you travel companion, Elika, works out to your benefit as she is more of an asset than an annoyance.

-I had free time on the road and was able to play Big Bang Mini! An extreme vertical shooter with clever mechanics and a charming presentation I had exciting time playing it. I think anybody who is a fan of the genre should check this one out.

-My friend asked me to get Killzone 2 but in return he's getting Resident Evil 5 today. We were able to play a few matches and I can't explain how amazing I feel about the online play. A single match can have up to 5 rounds of different game types such as capture the flag or territories and each of these rounds can be up to 25 minutes each. The results are you can choose to play either a quick round or play multiple rounds with the same people for hours trying to win the overall match. Playing the latter puts a sense of importance and meaning into your victory as you put so much effort in. The game also runs great, has a varied assortment of weapons, fun character classes to choose from, and gives you the feel of playing with many more people that are actually playing.

I've also had a little time to play Street Fighter 4 and Bioshock, but what about you? What games are currently slipping down your bib?

Capcom still loves the Wii ^_^

Wii owners feeling left out of the evil? Well check this out, Capcom has officially announced that Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is coming out for the Wii. The game will be based on Resident Evil 2 and you will play as either Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield with an on-rails gameplay style similar to Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

Capcom has also announced that they are working on porting over Resident Evil Zero and the Resident Evil Gamcube remake to the Wii. It looks like Capcom has equal love for all systems. Curse you Capcom! Why must you be such a good publisher!

Do you even watch Anime? KenShin-chan Edition

Dear Sam,

WTF? Isn't this called the otakuxgamer blog? If so how come you only talk about video games and the one time you mention anime is if it was adapted into a game. I think the only time you spoke about anime was that Professor Layton movie I can't even understand! What I'm saying is do you even watch anime?

Doubting you ever so much,
Will.I.Am

...I so watch anime. New special segment!!!

-I've been watching Shin-chan season one a lot. It's only 13 episodes but it's quick jokes and clever use of short stories make it seem like I have more than 50! It was on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim for quite some time but has been absent as of late. I'f you've never seen it then here you go!

-On a more serious side I've also been watching the 2nd season of Rurouni Kenshin. A tale of a wandering swordsman seeking atonement he now has been confronted by his past! I recently bought the dvds because I owe a lot of debt to this anime for truly bringing me into the otaku culture. A classic series I recommend this for just about anybody who wants to watch anime!

Professor Layton in America...LOL

Not only does America have two DS games and a movie to be anxious about being localized, but a third Professor Layton game is coming out in Japan. Professor Layton and the Devil's Flute will be coming out in Japan in the fall and will also be the start of a new trilogy! This new game is actually a prequel to "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" as it is set three years prior to those events. Poor American Layton fans if only we knew how to speak Japanese!

Big Sisters do exist! Game Informer sheds light on Bioshock 2

Bioshock was a great game.

It immersed you into a believable world full of fright, top of the line graphics, compelling storyline and a fun game mechanic to boot. Those who played the game remember how frightening their first encounter with a Big Daddy was. Well it seems that Game Informer once again has the big scoop on this one. Their April issue confirms that whenever Bioshock 2 releases, it'll have Big Sisters and the setting will most likely be back in Rapture.

Until the article is out only so much can be gathered at the moment about the Big Sister other than the cage on it's back that the Little Sister is riding in and the harpoon mounted on it's arm. My gosh Game Informer, any more world exclusives and you're going to need to start releasing two issues a month.

News Games Every Week!: Resident Madworld Edition

Did you know that games come out every week? I know it's hard to imagine and equally as hard to see me playing and talking about each one. I am able to mention the more memorable games this week such as Tom Clancy's HAWX, Avalon Code, Madworld, and the action packed Resident Evil 5.

If you haven't had time to see what Madworld is like I recommend watching this video. I'll have more info on Madworld tomorrow, but I won't be able to talk about Resident Evil 5 until this friday. Capcom felt compelled to hold onto the game for who knows how long just so that they can release it on friday the 13th. Oh Capcom if only you didn't release such good games I would swear to never come return to you!

Guitar Hero may not be a "hero" anymore

Competition is good, well usually. You would figure competition would lower the prices or raise the quality of some of the games being produced by Electronic Arts (Rock Band) and Activision Blizzard (Guitar Hero). Well not only will The Beatles: Rock Band be priced at $250 for the premium bundle, usually $200, but there is going to be five more Guitar Hero games before the end of the year.

Recently reported on IGN it seems that this year will be at the mercy of Guitar Hero 5, Hard Rock Van Halen, Band Hero, DJ Hero, and the inevitable DS game. If you've given up on the quality of the "Hero" games then at least money is the only problem with EA's music franchise. As Rock Band 3 looms over 2010, 2009 will only see the release of two Rock Band games. Let's hope that the Rock Band release list doesn't eventually look like this.

Breaking News: Professor Layton and...the first movie?

Forget the other two DS games of Professor Layton that we don't have, we'll probably see them sometime in the next 5 years. What will come out soon though (and can be easily subtitled) is the new Professor Layton: The First Movie! Coming out some time in 2010 it seems the movie will be similar to the game with...puzzles! One more thing that American Layton fans can look forward to coming to the states. How fun would it be though that when you buy a ticket they'll only let you in if you can solve a brain teaser?

Achievement Unlocked and Uncensored

Many gamers and journalists agree that a major change that Microsoft brought to the gaming world wasn't graphics or technical greatness, but the simple satisfaction of achievements. For years gamers would struggle for hours playing games with beating them as the only goal in mind. Seeing the end credits was all they needed. Now in this new era gamers can unlock achievements on their Xbox 360 and show off their gamerscore to their friends. The idea was so revered that Sony has even mimicked this idea with their trophy system on the PS3.

Craig Harris recently reported on IGN about this wonderful game called Achievement Unlocked where you play as a simple blue elephant in a room full of death. A fun parody on achievements you may chuckle at first, but once the realization of addiction kicks in you will discover how important the achievement system truly is to Microsoft. You may also catch of glimpse of how "achievement whores" feel whenever they play a game.

Update: Play the game for free right here!

What games do I game? Weekly T_T

Dear Sam,
I am a huge fan of your blog and have always wondered what games do you play every week while writing your fantastic material and dealing with your manga?

Love, Rihanna

There you have it folks. Let the first weekly "What games do I game?" begin!

-I've been playing a few rounds of Ninjatown with full intent to beat it. My business ninjas shall overcome all!

-Finally got a chance to sit down and play the Halo Wars demo. I was at first impressed by the visuals and mechanics until it occurred to me that it really is just a dumbed down version of Starcraft. It's too easy and simple minded so stick with PC if you want to play an RTS. If you really like Halo though...go for it.

-I honestly attempted to at least beat a stage this week on "Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?", but to no avail. I've very proud of my 2D platforming skills but putting my PSP next to my cat and crying on him would probably have the same result as actually trying to beat this game.

-Other noteworthy games played are Street Fighter 4, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, Capcom vs. SNK 2, and Peggle Extreme. I still love honing my fighting skills and what's wrong with a little manly ball action here and there?

So what games have you been playing?

BlazBlue bursts out of the arcade into Japanese homes

I like fighting games.

If the horde of fighting games already out this year weren't enough for you, don't fret. Currently only available in Japanese arcades BlazBlue, developed by Arc System Works who also did Guilty Gear, will be shipping to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 this summer in Japanese homes.

A beautiful 2D fighter it seems like the home version will be stuffed with additional content. The biggest news is the story mode which will offer individual stories for each character which will further branch out based on battle results and choices made by the player. The game will also have full voice work and animated cutscenes created by Studio Gonzo. General Director Toshimichi Mori joked that he feels there is "too much content" in the game as the story mode easily spans 30 hours of gameplay. The game includes network compatibility for online play that is confirmed to be worldwide so we can hope that a U.S. version will soon be announced. If you haven't seen what this game is capable of yet check out the video and you'll realize how many games can you play as such a cuddly...cat?

The Beatles: Rock Band will launch worldwide 9/9/09

I like dates like this. My birthday is 8/8/1988 and the Dreamcast launched in the U.S. on 9/9/1999 so logically 9/9/2009 has to rival at least the latter date. The Beatles: Rock Band game has finally been given a launch date and will be released worldwide for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and Wii.
Three packages will be offered to accommodate each fan's level of interest: The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle comes with software and hardware pack (guitar, drums and mic) for $249.99; The Beatles: Rock Band Standalone Guitars ditches the drums and mic for $99.99; or former Rock Band players can use their current hardware with The Beatles: Rock Band Software for $59.99. There will also be a limited amount of hardware offerings that will be available that were modeled after the same instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. - GameDaily

Resident Evil 5 Viral Trailer One: Ceremony

I've seen a fun amount of viral trailers lately in gaming. Some were very memorable. Of course these types of marketing ads are used for games that have the hype to potentially outsell everything. Is Resident Evil5 worthy of being Capcom's next big money maker? Only a month after another huge Capcom hit Resident Evil 5 will be coming out for Xbox360/PS3 on March 13. Despite all the controversy of racism and controls the fact that it was the most downloaded demo on Xbox Live might foreshadow this game's sales.

After playing the demo myself I can't wait to play RE5 on co-op as we stop-and-gun the seemingly endless hordes of zombies. If you've played Resident Evil 4 you know what to expect. If not, then help yourself to the trailer and get excited.

Resident Evil 5 Viral Trailer

Microsoft still supplies boxes, what about guarantees?

Due to confusion earlier this week people thought that Microsoft stopped supplying "three red light" victims with free shipping boxes to send back your console in the hope that it's fixed and is given a lollipop. Microsoft denies this though and states that they are still shipping out free boxes. Official statement time:
"Reports that Microsoft now requires consumers to find their own packaging for sending product to Xbox 360 customer support are inaccurate. Our policy allows customers to choose whether they would like Microsoft to ship them a box and shipping label or print an electronic label and ship their console using their own packaging in an effort to speed up the repair process."— Microsoft Spokesperson

Well that's certainly good to know. So as long as your Xbox 360 breaks within the 3 year warranty everything will be fine. Thank you Microsoft for fixing your mistakes for free.

King of Fighters 12 US Trailer Debuts

The fighting genre has received some incredible games in the past year. To name the big boys we got Soul Calibur 4, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, Battle Fantasia, Street Fighter 4, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and by autumn Tekken 6. The only huge fighting icon left would be SNK Playmore.

SNK is giving the King of Fighters series a fresh start with the new HD consoles by having the backgrounds and characters in the game 100% hand drawn. The game will feature 20 playable characters and will have a worldwide release July 2009. Can Street Fighter hold it's own against its longtime rival? Who will truly be the king of fighters this summer? Only time can tell. Oh by the way, does Terry have his hat back?

King of Fighters XII US Debut Trailer

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 shoves its way onto the PS3

Imagine if Einstein never lived to build the bomb. Would America have beaten the Japanese as fast? If not then would the Japanese have risen to power much faster while America and Russia settled their political disputes. What if infantry units consisted of psychic sailor suit wearing teenage girls and Russian bears with armor? Well that's the reality in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. A clever RTS released last year for the PC and Xbox 360 now would still be a good time to get it as the new expansion, Uprising, will be downloadable for PC this month. For all you Sony lovers an Ultimate Edition (Uprising included) will also be released March 23rd and when EA hires actors such as Jenny McCarthy and Ric (the Black Scorpion!) Flair one must be curious to know who wins this new World War.

New Sonic and the Black Knight Trailer

Let's say you liked the Sonic and the Secret Rings engine and wanted to improve on it. Let's also say that you thought improve meant Sonic needed a sword, uses it to deflect rhinoceros, and chase a gold knight who treats him like a race dog. If you thought that the latter then you're probably developing for Sonic Team of Japan and you should seriously consider your roots. I don't think this chili dog eating rodent can be put through much more abuse as he lives his final moments, but I get the feeling that they're sooner rather than later. Anyway you can have your own opinion on this.

Mass Effect 2 possibly continue the story of?

If you were one of the few people who were able to beat Mass Effect and also one of the fewer people who actually picked Commander Shepard as your main character then you'll probably not want to watch the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2. If you can't handle the fact that Commander Shepard may either be missing from a large portion of the game or may not be in it at all then you may not be too happy. This might not be a problem for all you girls (and guys) who like to play as Fiona.

So Sam, how was Killzone 2? This is a quick preview.

Well Mr. Imagination, I got the game last night and I do have to say a few things about it. It's visually breathtaking as I played it on my dad's 50+ inch screen. It has not been since Gear of War that I appreciated a game's graphical engine as much as this, but if you're not a graphic Nazi let's continue. Controls is the next thing fps players will realize about this game along with words like "what the @#$*" and "seriously why?" but I actually want to applaud Guerrilla Games for not going with the norm of "R2 must always be shoot!" thinking. A person should also not list the controls as one of the games faults just because they're not used to it and honestly the controls themselves are not awkward.
The drop ship intro is amazing and I will play the game longer next time.

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection!!

So while we were wasting our time after the Dreamcast perished with rubbish such as the Playstation 2 and Halo somebody was hard at work collecting the greatest games ever released on the Sega Genesis. That someone was Sonic. We always punish Sonic for forgetting his roots and every time he appears in a game we say he forgot what used to make him great. Well apparently he's fed up with all the nonsense as he wants to show us the roots. Sonic collected 40 great games ranging from Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Vectorman, Kid Chameleon, Shinobi 3 to just plain Sonic the Hedgehog. This is my childhood on a simple disc and as I was playing it tonight I felt like I was 9 again. Oh the good days. Sonic you have shown us your collection of great games. May it always be remembered that this was the 16-bit era and it was damn proud of it.
